Toggle3. Appreciate The Little Victories
Perfectionists often have a negative outlook on things. However, it’s important to appreciate the good things that happen throughout the day, even if they seem small. Why? Focusing on the positives changes your perspective and takes away from the negatives. Research has shown that when we achieve something, we feel more motivated to keep going. So how can you practice the power of positive thinking? For instance, you can celebrate the fact that you had breakfast this morning instead of skipping it like you usually do. Or you can be glad about meeting a new colleague who seems interesting and will be a great addition to the team.
4. Set A Time Limit
To complete a task, it’s important to set a specific time limit for yourself. For instance, if you decide to give yourself 2 hours, stick to that timeframe. However, if you believe you have unlimited time to finish, you’ll likely take too long and neglect other important tasks. While there’s always room for improvement in your work, you can’t allocate an indefinite amount of time to a project just because you want to achieve perfection.
